TRAVEL DAY 29 - Murrells Inlet to N. Myrtle Beach

April 6, 2023

3.93 Hours/31.1 Miles

Our trip today was beautiful for the first couple of miles until it transformed into mostly a "ditch", straight and boring. Most of the entire shoreline here is lined with numerous new subdivisions with expensive upscale ICW frontage homes and condominiums.

We followed behind Tug Bussle a beautiful 36' Kadey Krogen we had met briefly in Charleston as we were leaving and then again for a short conversation at Wacca Wache Marina. An AGLCA Facebook member snapped & posted pictures of us in lockstep on the ICW. Anyone with NEBO can see the boat and information.

The worst thing to happen in the last 700 miles was losing one of our new boat lines over the side a few minutes prior to docking. Not the end of the world, just a frustration and certainly no setback.

Lost Boat Line

Barefoot Landing is directly on the ICW in North Myrtle Beach. There is a very nice set of floating docks that are free to dock at.

The only thing we didn't know was, could we stay overnight? Once tied up, we surveyed the docks. Nope, no sign that says no overnight docking. Awesome, free dock!!  Barefoot landing is kind of like an amusement park with a park, kid stuff, restaurants and a brewery, oh yeah and did I mention, a free dock?

Always an welcome sight

We explored, grabbed a beer, a snack and watched some live Bluegrass Music.

Back to the boat for some Quesada's for dinner. The crowd thinned out pretty early and by 10 pm it was quiet. It was a little warmer here without the river breezes but is was cool enough that sleeping wasn't uncomfortable.
